    Some Frequently Asked Questions......

What type of events are we good for?
We have done around 650 gigs since forming in August 2001.Six months hard rehearsal followed by a wide range of experience at different venues. We enjoy live music and, to be honest, there aren't many opportunities we will turn down.

In short we have played Pubs, Clubs, Large Venues, Small Venues, Festivals, Private Functions such as weddings, birthdays, engagements, funerals, barmitzvah's, oh yes and the opening of a rather nice lingerie shop in Basildon...but I digress.

If you're a music agent or a private function organiser (or even someone who thinks that disco should have stayed in the 70's) and you want one of the most flexible, easy going outfits in the world then you have come to the right place.

When booking any band though, it's never wise to do it blind. Start by listening to the downloadable tracks on the site. On our site you have both live and studio recorded. We will consider bookings for any type of event, but remember, "what we do is what we do". If your expecting middle of the road, We aren't it. Remember we are primarily a blues-rock band and "chirpy chirpy cheep cheep" (Blimey...you remember that!!) followed by the full works of Atomic Kitten just isn't gonna happen (besides that would only take about 10 minutes!). We have very successfully knocked em out at weddings and private parties...but just be warned!

    I
f you get the chance go and see the band live. We pride ourselves on providing an entertaining evening, involving the audience from the word go. Have no doubt we will be heard and seen. OBM are not about looking at your naval and showing how clever you are. Its music...some of the best...and its there to be enjoyed. So if you're looking for a different band for your event, then read on

How Much experience do you have?

Well, err, to say we have been around a bit is a slight understatement. The boys have been in and out of bands, known and unknown for what feels like a lifetime (ouch!). We've had our fifteen minutes of fame plus a further fifteen minutes of infamy and 6 months solitary confinement from a very nice judge in Cambridge.

What makes this band work is some excellent musicianship from guys who can back just about anyone and a sense of fun plus an understanding that what makes good music is a 50/50 mix between music and performance. Although we say it ourselves were pretty damned good at judging audience mood and occasion, whether its serious listening or falling over stone drunk and jumping around like a Tasmanian devil. Hence, our set list varies for this very reason (check the set list out on the pages of this site). It's worth checking out our Guestbook and our "Whats Been Said Page" for comments from those who have seen us or booked us previously. It's a good representation of comments from those who we believe make our brand of music what it is...you, the audience.

How many people in the band?
Good point. Nine in all. A lot eh?...One things for sure we ain't gonna fit in your living room, but having said that we have played in tiny venues and crammed ourselves in. Great for you, a little personal for us but what the hey...

The Band Comprises of Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Acoustic rhythm, Electric rhythm, Lead Guitar, Sax/Blues harp, Keyboards, Bass and Drums.

We can, will and have reduced in size on occasions, either for unplugged events or because someone failed to turn up because of a serious hangover. Having nine in the band has its advantages in that it's a bit like always carrying a spare wheel in your car. We are never short of someone to fill the gap...But...the full band experience is our trademark sound and that's what we love best.

How far will the band travel?
Hey if you have a house in Bermuda and can fly us out there...well, the bags are already packed!

We will consider travelling just about anywhere. Two things we always consider are cost and whether if we travel 300 miles there is at least gonna be more than a man and his dog in the audience. It might sound a bit luvvie but, believe me, there is nothing more dispiriting than playing to two people...mind, those two are now very good friends!

Do you provide your own equipment?
To be frank, without a load of kit we would be a tad quiet so the short answer is yes! The band provides full PA, backline and foldback amplification and mixer desk plus all the things you would normally associate with a band like...err...instruments.

Lighting units can be provided at extra cost. We can also provide incidental music for the odd sanatogen break the band are keen on taking in long sets, so we can revive ourselves to full performance level.

How much do you cost?
Our price is based on a number of factors such as distance ,expense costs and performance times. Please remember though to get around usually takes the equivalent of three trucks to get us to an event. Once there, there is usually an hour or so set up time and the same at the end of a gig for breaking the set.

If your looking for a band to support a charity event, we don't make a charge but (we will require confirmation details of the Charity nonetheless), similarly if we have to travel a long distance we do kindly ask for a contribution towards expenses if at all possible.

If your serious about booking us, please do get in touch and we will give you a quote, the chances are it will still be cheaper than your average disco and there really is'nt anything better than live music!

Ok Im convinced I can't do without you...what next?
